JOB DESCRIPTION: STRATEGIST

Weber Shandwick DC is looking for a bright and motivated Strategist to fuel creative thinking and brand strategies for a range of complex issues and well-known clients. DC area residency is a plus.
About you: You are endlessly curious about consumer mindsets and the drivers of behavior change. You’re savvy to the nuances of politics. You relish finding just the right words to make your point, and you’re up on diverse media platforms and AI technology. You can frame a problem, develop “ah ha” insights, and explain what it all means in a simple, compelling story. You’re open-minded, inclusive and empathetic. And you can quickly pivot with the unpredictability of today’s fast-changing political and cultural environments.
This is a month-in-the-life:
- Support the social media strategy for a major public sector client
- Have interest in complex industries, such as financial services and healthcare.
- Conduct secondary desk research, write discussion guides and synthesize primary research findings, and support campaign measurement and evaluation
- Craft brand narratives and messaging frameworks to provide a north star for client communications
- Assist in the crafting and evaluation of primary quantitative and qualitative research to segment audiences, identify influencers and uncover insights
- Read endlessly and understand fast-moving political and cultural issues
- Leverage emerging insights and events to help re-shape assignments, and optimize campaign strategies based on performance data
- Support the development of clear and engaging client reports and presentations
- Use subscription data tools like MRI, Talkwalker, Mintel, and be comfortable innovating in an AI sandbox to get smarter, faster.
- Actively contribute to client meetings, creative brainstorms and strategy sessions
- Cultivate fruitful relationships with key decision-makers across the business including creative and digital strategists, research/analytics experts, and account teams
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
